Schistosity.
This rock has a schistose fabric defined by a strong alignment of mica flakes. Since the shapes of mica flakes are controlled by the well-developed {001} crystal form, this is an example of lattice preferred orientation in addition to the dimensional preferred orientation of the flakes.

Crossed polars. Field of view is 2.5 mm across.
