Welcome to the DEEPSCAPE research group webpage!
We use seismic waves to explore the world around us, with applications ranging from deep Earth structure and dynamics to seismic noise due to animal and human activities. We often use publicly available seismic data and models, but we also deploy our own seismometers and develop new theoretical methods. We aim to use the best tools and data for the applications at hand, often working together with experts from other fields such as mineral physics, geodynamics and computer science.

The group consists of PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from around the world, led by Dr Paula Koelemeijer. Together, we represent more than 10 nationalities and 4 continents. We value this diversity and the range in backgrounds, from pure physics to earth sciences and geology. We are based in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Oxford and frequently interact with other seismologists and experts in the department.
